Precise swivel mechanism and seamless integration into the vehicle design

The project to develop a kinematic storage compartment for a German car manufacturer was carried out by the KTX Group with the aim of creating a decorative component whose opening mechanism is activated by a swivel function. A particular challenge was the precise control of the mirror welding process in order to maintain exact manufacturing tolerances and integrate the component seamlessly into the vehicle design.

The task was to develop a functional, aesthetic component that fits perfectly into the interior of the vehicle and at the same time opens the storage compartment conveniently using a swivel mechanism. To achieve this, the process control for mirror welding was optimized, ensuring the exact height and gap dimensions of the component.

Close collaboration between engineers and manufacturing experts resulted in precise production that ensured a perfect fit of the component. The component was fitted with a swivel mechanism that allowed the storage compartment to be opened smoothly at the touch of a button. In addition, the surface was finished with a high-quality paint, which further enhanced the design.

The result is a storage compartment that impresses both functionally and visually. The precise manufacturing tolerances led to perfect integration of the component into the vehicle. The swivel mechanism was rated by test drivers as intuitive and convenient, while the component blends harmoniously into the interior of the customer's vehicle and underlines the high-quality design.
